Transformative education for sustainable development: A faculty perspective

Abstract Transformative learning focuses on stimulating a radical reassessment of worldviews the part students. Such outcomes resonate with practitioners concerned education for sustainable development. However, research applying transformative within higher development is limited. Thus, objective this study to obtain deeper understanding what happening at institutional level. The question guiding asks experience faculty who harness when teaching sustainability topics is. Results indicate that successful adoption in programs realistic. Participants prioritized critical thinking and analysis as these were deemed attainable prevailing operational constraints. Moreover, participants obliged reassess their professional roles; exercise was considered crucial determinant success. Their traditional role expert classroom exchanged one emphasizing co-learning co-creation knowledge. On personal level, compelled examine values, behaviors, comprehensively.
